“I am solely focused on the plan and more specifically defining my edge within that plan.” @TheWiddyTrader

In Members in Profile, we interview stand-out members that show strong aptitude and work ethic. Our goal is to highlight different folks so that you can see the effort that our members are putting into their trading and hopefully learn from their experiences of the Convergent Trading Community.

We hope you enjoy hearing what @TheWiddyTrader has to say!

What brought you into trading?

I can’t really pinpoint a certain moment in time, but as I grew into my higher earning years I naturally started to invest. As I began to explore options, I discovered how much I enjoyed the idea of my money making more money! What a concept, right?! I began to build a passion for

business, investing, stocks, and all things markets. That was probably 10 years ago.

What do you like most about Convergent?

There are two things that jump out to me about Convergent. First are the webinars. There is a vast library of incredible content that I could sink my teeth into when I first joined. Second, would be the level of professionalism across all of Convergent. From the head traders to new members. Everyone has a level of professionalism that you don’t typically find.

How have these aspects helped you grow as a trader?

Being exposed to and surrounded by traders who are building proper habits from the start I believe is foundational to future success. Bad habits can develop quickly and often in the dark. If you’re struggling, you have a number of resources to help you overcome and break those bad habits here in CT.

Do you have a favorite community quote or webinar?

Not a specific quote, but the way John and FT describe the process of coming in each day and executing a plan has been vital to my growth. For me, I am solely focused on the plan and more specifically defining my edge within that plan. Then I can move on to executing the plan.

Do you have any advice for new members?

Don’t miss the GMS webinars. Ask questions and don’t be afraid to look stupid. The amount of resources CT provides is far and above what is typical so use every single one of those resources to your advantage as often as you can. Drain CT for everything it’s worth. It’s okay to be selfish when it comes to your success.

What is your favorite non-trading activity/hobby?

I coach high school soccer during the fall and continue to play on the weekends. I also consider myself a competitive gamer. I love FPS games that have a strategic element to them.

Have you participated in the #TradeRight program/challenges? What discoveries have you made?

This might be a strange answer, but for me what I found out is that I have a “need” or “desire” to be seen. What I mean by that is when I would do my public journaling and logging for the TR program I found myself “refreshing” the page to see who has read my page. How many views did I get? Has anyone commented? I was getting a dopamine hit every time I knew someone read my Journal. Ultimately, I stopped and now journal in Notion. I was informed later that you can make your CT journal private, which at the time I did not know! Nonetheless, it was an important part of understanding where my psychology is not aligning with my goals.
