“Focus on Each Lesson and Master Them One at a Time.” @DinaMax
In Members in Profile, we interview stand-out members that show strong aptitude and work ethic. Our goal is to highlight different folks so that you can see the effort that our members are putting into their trading and hopefully learn from their experiences of the Convergent Trading Community.
We hope you enjoy hearing what @DinaMax has to say!
What brought you into trading?
I was hooked when I won a stock trading contest in my High School statistics class. We had to pick 5 stocks and track them by looking in the newspaper each day for the daily results. We kept statistics on them and with good old fashion graph paper and pencil, we plotted the results. After graduating college and getting my first job I started investing in Mutual funds and DRIPS. Later moved to options and then futures.
What do you like most about Convergent?
The comprehensive community from the Trade Right Program down to the Market statistics reports. You have everything you need at your fingertips to learn how to trade like a prop trader. The members are smart, supportive, and willing to take the time to answer your questions.
How have these aspects helped you grow as a trader?
The daily preparation and Price Mapping have kept me out of the weeds of the smaller time frame charts. It has allowed me to see the bigger picture for directional bias and has given me the patience to wait for the best setups at the most critical inflection points.
Do you have a favorite community quote or webinar?
Morad has so many great quotes and analogies it’s hard to choose just one. He needs to capture them all in an E-book. Anyway, I found his recent webinar on “Trading a Balanced Environment” to be an eye-opener for me and very timely in my journey to becoming a full-time trader.
Do you have any advice for new members?
You must put the time into learning and doing the homework in order to succeed. Remember you are going up against the greatest minds of Wall Street. Don’t try learning everything at once. Focus on each lesson and master them one at a time. Then you can start adding them to your arsenal of trading tools. Don’t underestimate how important risk management and trading psychology is to be successful. Have a plan for both. Finally, don’t try to mirror trade the head traders or CT members. Review and learn from their commentary and trade setups. The goal is to gain the confidence to be an independent trader.
What is your favorite non-trading activity/hobby?
I love to play golf, especially in the beautiful desert landscape of Arizona. I don’t get to play as much now, but that’s ok because I get to spend that time with my family and my 5-year-old son. He loves numbers too, and when I ask him what’s his favorite number he says “All of Them”…lol. As a family, you will catch us camping and hiking across the state.
